Handcrafted in Japan, this Shigaraki Ware Matcha Bowl reflects the earthy texture and natural character of one of Japan’s most celebrated traditional pottery styles.
With its warm, organic surface and gently irregular handmade form, each bowl carries subtle variations in colour, texture and finish, giving every piece its own individual character.
Measuring approximately 11cm wide and 8cm high, the bowl is beautifully proportioned for preparing and enjoying matcha. Its versatile form can also be used for tea, desserts or small dishes.
Shigaraki Ware (信楽焼) originates from Shigaraki in Shiga Prefecture and is recognised as one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, with a pottery tradition spanning many centuries.
Each piece is handmade, so slight variations in shape, colour and glaze are natural characteristics of the pottery.
